Ezen kívül vállalta, hogy 20 ezer forint értékű bort és gabonát szállít a végvárak szükségletére.135 Első ránézésre igen jelentős anyagi kö veteléseknek tűnnek ezek a feltételek, az 1610-es évek közepére azonban már egy szoros gazdasági és sokoldalú politikai érdekszövetség alakult ki Homonnai György és az udvar/kincstár között, amelynek célja Bethlen Gábor erdélyi fejedelem megbuktatása és a keleti részek Habsburg érdekszférába vonása volt. 136 THE TRIAL OF GYÖRGY DRUGETH OF HOMONNA FOR HIGH TREASON by Zoltán Borbély SUMMARY Hungarian historiography has generally regarded centrally organised procedures, commonly known as chamber or fiscal suits as one of the chief noble grievances in the period preceding the Bocskai revolt those. These were aimed at appropriating the landed wealth of Hungarian magnates for the state. Young György Drugeth of Homonna and his mother, Fruzsina Dóczy, fell victim to such a trial, whereupon they were exiled into Poland, and their landed assets were confiscated. Through a detailed analysis of the case, the exploration of the social background of its participants, and the examination of their social network, the study aims to prove that the procedure, instead of being a simple effort by the central government at raising money, was deeply embedded in the power struggles within the Hungarian political elite, a quest for land and personal conflicts. 135 ŠA Prešov (DH) inv. c. 503/1.
