The theories about the early-thirteenth-century gesta redaction(s) have thus proved utterly problematic. Although I do not reject the possibility of a redaction prepared during the reign of Andrew II, contrary to Kristó I think that there is no reason to count with more than one redaction, presumably written in the second half of the reign.
