vei kapcsolatban, és az alábbi határozatot hozta: „A Budapestről korábban kitelepített személyek, akik a korlátozás megszüntetésével visszatérnek Budapestre, nem kaphatják vissza korábbi lakásaikat, illetve ilyen irányú bírósági eljárást nem indíthatnak.”111 Ezek után nem meglepő, hogy az egykori kitelepítettek közül sokan az emigrációt választották az 1956-os forradalom idején, akik pedig itthon maradtak, azokat a kitelepítettek stigmája még évtizedekig elkísérte, azonban ott is - itt is szinte a semmiből kellett újra kezdeni az életüket. „IT IS NONSENSICAL THAT THOUSANDS OF THE MOST DETERMINED SUPPORTERS OF THE OLD REGIME SHOULD INHABIT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE CITY -” The political background and practical management of relocations from Budapest 1951-1953 by Mária Palasik (Summary) Between 1950 and 1953 part of the Hungarian society fell victim to a series of violent measures whereby thousands of families were relocated to places of habitation forcefully assigned to them, depriving them of the prestige, houses, flats, the majority of their movables and social relations they had enjoyed previously. Robbed and humiliated, they were locked up in isolated working camps in Eastern Hungary, or quartered in the houses of peasants who had been stigmatised as too rich for the new social conditions. This process, known as the relocation, concerned those people in the western and southern borderlands of the country who were deemed politically untrustworthy, whereas at Budapest and in some villages mostly the supporters of the previous political regime and their social circles. The present study analyses the political background of the relocations, as well as the underlying motivations and their actual administration, chiefly on the basis of archival documents.
