TANULMÁNYOK - Oross András: A magyarországi kamarai rendszer változásai a török kiűzésétől Mária Terézia uralkodásáig V/1157
1170 OROSS ANDRAS changes due to modifications in the military situation and the actual personal conditions. The new chamber administrations were ever more closely subjected to control from Vienna, as their immediate superior authority was the Court Chamber itself. The financial transformations introduced during the reign of Charles III (VI) (1711-1740) influenced the working of the chamber organisation as well, before all the checks put on their administration of monetary affairs. The more peaceful conditions which prevailed around the middle of the 18th century, and a central policy which treated more tolerantly the Hungarian estate opposition, made an immediate control of the Hungarian chambers from Vienna unnecessary. Consequently, under Maria Theresia (1740-1780) the competence of the Hungarian Chamber could gradually be extended to encompass the entire country, and its control over the country’s chamber revenues made exclusive. Laden with serious conflicts of interests, however, this process was far from smooth, and drew on for several years.
