Bisterica romano-catolică Fecioara Neprihănită (Zarda)

ZARDA-ZÁRDA The Roman-Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception The church is one of the most representative buildings of Ştefan cel Mare street. The land of the former canal of Someş river was given to Bishop János Hám by the city to build a cloister for the Misericordian Nuns. The construction of the building was completed in 1842. The faţade of the church, built in Classical style is dominated by two elements: the tympanum constructed on four pillars, and the unusual sized tower, covered with a crowned lantern. The altar painting presenting the Immaculate Conception was made by József Pesky from Budapest, in 1854. 97
