Kiss Gedeon, Szatmárnémeti város főkapitánya még 1898-ban egy vasúti internátus létrehozására tett indítványt. Az építési munkálatok 1905-ben fejeződtek be, amelynek eredményként egy emeletes épület készült el, amelyben vasúti iskola és 200 férőhelyes internátus működött. Az épület neoklasszicista stílusú főhomlokzatának négy kiugró regisztere ritmikus egyszerűséget sugároz. Ma a Ion I. C. Brátianu Iskolaközpontnak és a CFR (Román Államvasútak) Poliklinikánakad otthont.

Ion I. C. Brátianu High School

The plans of a building serving as a college for the railways were designed in 1898, initiated by the city captain Gedeon Kiss. The construction of the single-storey building was completed in 1905. It hosted the school of the railways and a boarding school for 200 students. The faţade of the neoclassical building is divided into four parts by the salient building wings. This confers a rhythmic repetition to the simple fagade of the building. Nowadays Ion I.CBrátianu School and the CFR (Romanian Railways) Clinics are here.
