The Orthodox Church of “Archangels St. Michael and Gabriel”

The church was built in 1857. The villagers transported the stones for the building from the valley of River Rău (Bad). The distance from the river to the top of the “Dâmbul bisericii” (Church Hill), was not less then 2 kilometres. The architecture of the church is influenced by the baroque style, as is frequent in the Oaş Region. The first phase of the church had only the nave and the altar, without the porch, iconostasis and the tower. The iconostasis and tower was built between 1934 and 1937. The iconostasis was made by the sculptor Ion Vlasiu and the painter Gheorghe Vânătoru, according to the Byzantine canons. The screen of the iconostasis is sculpted in oak wood, with decorations inspired from the popular art of the local craftsmen. The pronaos and the gallery were built between 1980 and 1987. The fresco decoration of the inside, in Byzantine style, was made in the same period. All the work was assigned to the great ethnographer of the Oaş region: Gheorghe Focşa. A particularity of the church is that the monks of Bixad monastery served here over 50 years. (DB).

Nadişu Hododului (comuna Hodod) Biserica reformată

Biserica este menţionată timpuriu, în secolul al XIII-lea, în Registrul de la Oradea. In secolul al XV-lea a existat o biserică din piatră, fără turn şi cimitir. Biserica actuală păstrează probabil o parte din vechiul edificiu. Sanctuarul poligonal, contraforturile şi proporţiile edificiului lasă impresia unei biserici medievale. Satul a devenit reformat pe parcursul secolului al XVI-lea, dar până în anul 1763 a funcţionat ca filie a parohiei din Hodod. In 1841 nava a fost lărgită spre sud, iar în faţa uşii s-a construit un hol cu timpan. Turnul monumental realizat în stil clasic, cu cupolă în formă de bulb de ceapă şi lanternă a fost construit în anul 1857, conform inscripţiei de pe peretele sudic. Amvonul din piatră decorat cu motive florale a fost realizat, după inscripţie, de către Dávid Sipos în anul 1753. Pe tavanul casetat sunt pictate blazoanele familiilor Wesselényi şi Degenfeld, dar pe parcursul ultimei reparaţii acesta a fost în mare parte modificat. Orga a fost realizată în anul 1843 de către un meşter necunoscut. Clopotele bisericii s-au confecţionat la Bucureşti în anul 1959, respectiv 1960. (TSz).
