Also, Tăşnad is the native place of many scientific and cultural personalities with international reputation: Bíró Lajos (1856 - 1931), famous naturalist and ethnographer, Petri Mór (1863 - 1945), writer and author of the Monography of Sălaj County (1901 - 1904), Nóti Karolyi (1892 - 1954), writer of theater plays and scenarist, the sculptor Sámuel Keresztesi (1893 - 1794), rewarded with gold at the World Exhibition in Paris, the producer Harag György (1925 - 1985) and the artists Petkes József (1928 -) and Vénig László ti930 - 2013). The memory яй these personalities is kept by the busts and commemorative plaques elevated by the community in the town. EDUCATION The documentary attestation of the first forms of education in the locality dates from the year 1544. During the nineteenth century were operating in the locality two confessional primary schools teaching in Hungarian, and by the end of the century was set up a Romanian school of Greek Catholic confession. These schools coexisted until 1911 when Romanian school was transformed into a state school. In 1910 the confessional schools from Tăşnad were unified and the Hungarian state had built in the center of the locality a very impressive school with 6 classrooms, conference room, office and accommodation for the manager.
