Altar din biserica romano-catolică de la Turulung Túrterebesi római katolikus templom mellékoltára Altar of the Roman-Catholic church of Turulung Римо-католицька церква у селі Турулунг - Алтар doesn’t enter in Turulung, in 1919, but in 1944, the German troops in withdrawal have bombed the village, destroying the iron bridge built over the Tur river just a few years before, causing damage to the Roman Catholic church, to the Calvinist parish and to many households. A year later, in 1945, the German population of the village was deported under the pretext of collective conviction in the labor camps of the Soviet Union. By the end of the 19th century Turulung locality had five ethnic nationalities. The Calvinist Hungarians, the Roman Catholic Schwabs, the Greek Catholic Rusins, Jews and Gipsies, all have lived here together.
