The territory of the Turulung village has been inhabited since earh civilization. It is situated in the north of the Satu Mare Plain surrounded by the Western Oas Mountains. The first traces o habitation on the territory of the locality date back in the old Age o Stone (the Upper Paleolithic). Stone tools and waste of the carvinj process were found in the vineyards on the Dealul Mic (The Smal Hill). This place was favorable to watching on big animal herds during their seasonal migration as it was an isolated area, offering a good viev on the surroundings. A new settlement was signaled on the territor of the village and with the shift to productive economy througl husbandry and cultivating of plants in the Neolithic Age Archaeological research was made here in the garden of the Ele family from Turulung-Vii, in 1975. The archaeological researcl revealed a large quantity of ceramic specific for the age and many axe made of polished stone, some of them with crossing gloving holes Two stone axes were also discovered on the territory of Turulunj locality, but there isn’t certain evidence if they belong to the site o Turulung or to another Neolithic settlement. A settlement datin; from the Late Bronze Age was archaeologically investigated. It і located on the territory of the Turulung - Vii locality, nearby the ban! of the Tur river. The settlement dating from the 14th -12th centurie BC belonged to the Suciu de Sus culture that flourished at that tim in the upper Tisa area and in the northern Transylvania. Cerami vessels, beautifully decorated with spiral or meanders, were found ii the settlement of Turulung-Vii.
