tion Cooperative and in the orchard area, next to the railway track, towards Resighea Locality, other pottery fragments with pointed studs (and a whole vessel) were discovered, dating to the early Copper Age. Several ceramic fragments, dating to the late Copper Age (Baden culture), were discovered in 1968, during the building of the water tower in the courtyard of the former Agricultural Cooperative. The highest number of prehistoric artefacts discovered on the territory of Sanislău Commune date to the early Bronze Age (the second half of the 3rd millennium BC, and the first centuries of the 2nd millennium BC). Among them, the archaeological discoveries found at the Nisipárie / Homokos Domb (Gravel Pit) site, constituted key elements to define an archaeological culture of this age, bearing the name of the locality: the Sanislău Cultural Group. In addition, at the western part of the commune, traces of a settlement and six graves with archaeological inventory were investigated at Nisipărie (during the period 1967-1968). Vestiges of the early Bronze Age were discovered in other locations of the communes territory, too: the stable yard of the Agricultural Production Cooperative, near the Orthodox cemetery, and in the gardens of the locality outskirts, toward Ciumeşti.
