ing from Italy. In the inside, the frescoes were re­stored several times, the last one being performed in 1985. The iconostasis is the original one, dating from 1913. The medieval church of the village, dedicated to St. Martin, has been mentioned since 1338. The catholic parish of the village was dissolved in 1562, due to the massive shift of the believ­ers to the Protestantism. The building period of the present Calvinist Church of Sanislău is not known. Altough the orientation, the structure of the ground plan, the polygonal sanctuary of the church and the buttresses suggest, that the build­ing is medieval.
