cius Verrus, dating back to 162-163, was found at Berea-Szentgyörgy tag, together with several fragments of stamped pottery. These discoveries confirm the existence of the commercial connections with the Roman Province of Dacia. Most probably, the arrival of the Hun tribes in the Carpathian Basin did not affect the population of this region during the early period of the migrations. The settlement at Ciumeşti-Moara / Ferma CAP (Ciumeşti I) site proves evidently that the habitation continued here during this period, the area being not located on the main roads of communication of those troubled times. During the migrations period, although, the density of the population decreased slightly, but the habitation continued at the sites of Berea-Grădina Florilor, Berea-La soci, Berea-Colina cu măcriş, Berea- Vii, Ciumeşti-Via veche, Ciumeşti-Bostănărie. After the collapse of the Hun Empire, a process of „Germanization” of the material culture can be observed in the region of Ciumeşti. Perhaps this phenomenon can be explained with the increasing strength of the Gepidic kingdom. On the following centuries, few archaeological information is available. The habitation, however, continued during the 7th to the 9th centuries, several ceramic fragments, characteristic to this period, were found Chiup celtic de la Berea Kelta tárolóedény Béréről Celtic storage vessel discovered at Berea 17
