shown by the foundation of a cooperative in 1927 that would collect and process the milk - a very profitable initiative for the inhabitants. The cooperative ceased its activity during the World War II. The vicissitudes of the World War II and especially their consequences caused much loss to the inhabitants of Căpleni. 350 people of German origin became victims of the collective conviction, and they were deported to labor camps in the USSR, in 1945. A monument was erected to their memory in the village cemetery. The first years of communism brought a wind of change in the village. The Franciscan monks of Căpleni were arrested in 1951 and transported to Radna (Arad county), being allowed to return in the locality only in 1957. The collectivization process began in 1957, and was completed in 1962, when all the families of Căpleni were included in the cooperative association. The period after 1990 is marked by an economic recovery and by the improvement of infrastructure, but the main activity remained agriculture. The school of the commune took the name of István Fény (1919-2000), who was professor, poet and translator, born in the locality. The brass band in Căpleni has its important role just like in the other localities, namely it preserves the traditions of the area, and the telecentre founded here, became the catalyst of the community’s life.
