rise. According to the specific of the German origin population, which formed the majority of the village, a great emphasis was put on development of the crafts. The first nominal information on the wide range of crafts used by the villagers dates back to the late 18th century and this number increased significantly during the first half of the 19th century. The documents mentions in the village the tailor (Rausz János) in 1786, the blacksmith Baumli György in 1795, the weaver Rausz Jakab in 1812, the carpenter Kintzel Antal in 1816, János Kintzel as woodworker in 1822, Ferenc Rist as shoemaker in 1831, Schupler Vendel as cooper in 1848, János Müller as mason in 1870. The harmonious development of the village was interrupted during the 19th century by several accidental events that, in that era, had catastrophic effects. It is the case of the fire in 1862, which left behind only eight full houses, destroying, even the church, the school and the parsonage, too. The evolution of Cămin during the second half of the 19th century was marked by a significant development of the means of transport and communication, primarily due to the construction of the railways connecting Carei and Mátészalka, which crossed Cămin.
