Archaeological discoveries
ax with vertical gloving hole, which was found on the surface of the settlement in 1968. Another socketed bronze ax was discovered together with several ceramic fragments nearby, at a small forest. The objects were donated to the Museum of Carei. The surface investigations made nearby the Ágerdőmajor farm (Hungary) resulted ceramic fragments, which indicate the existence of several settlements from different periods: Neolithic, Late Copper Age (Baden culture), Early Bronze Age (Nyírség culture) and Late Bronze Age (Gáva culture). Together with the large quantity of ceramic fragments found in this area, two stone axes without perforations were discovered here. Other surface investigations were made in the Korán-tag area, which appears like an island surrounded by the former swamp. A settlement was revealed here, that dates from the first phase of the Late Bronze Age (Pişcolt - Cehăluţ / Hajdúbagos horizon). Traces of settlements from the Late Neolithic or Early Copper Age (Tiszapolgár culture), and Gáva culture from the late Bronze Age were identified on the left bank of the Crasna River (the landmarks 2/4-2/7, and landmarks 3/3-3/1) during the works of hydrological land management. Important prehistoric discoveries were made at Lucăceni village, too. Two stone axes were found on the bank of Crasna river, while two settlements dating from the Early Bronze Age (Sanislău culture) and the beginning of the Late Bronze Age (Pişcolt - Cehăluţ / Hajdúbagos group) were found near the headquarter of agricultural cooperative, on the right side of the road that leads to the border guards piquet, between the road and the main canal.
