Archaeological finds from the Komán period and the Early migration period in the area of Sanislău-Ciumeşti- Berea From a geographical point of view this micro-region is positioned on the Eastern edge of an area characterised by sand dunes with smaller and larger water courses flowing between the dunes (Nyírség). The brooks of this micro-region are oriented roughly on South-North axes, flowing north, and from a hydrographic point of view belong to the Upper Tisa Basin. Between Sanisldu and Scărişoara Nouă there is a water trench, from here the rivers flow south into the rivers Ier and Barcău and thus become part of the Middle Tisa Basin. The Berea and Valea Neagră brooks border this area separating it from the Plain of Carei. The micro-region is very well known on the basis of field walking, which is doe to the antiquary Kovács Gyula, who identified more then 30 archaeological sites on the periphery of the villages. 135
