The Settlements of the Neolithic Pişcolt-Group in Northwestern Romania

(Abstract)

The Neolithic Pişcolt-group is a cultural group in Northwestern Romania, formed in the frame of the Painted Pottery Culture (PPC). The group is present in Transylvania and in Eastern Hungary (Syatmdr group for Kalicy — Makkay or Alföld Linear Pottery for N. Kaliaf). It can be found in Slovakia (linear pottery culture for L Hajec, Vel’ke Raskovce for Viadal, Kopcany and Kopuşany group for Siska) and Ukraine too (Diakovo group for Potushniak). From chronological point of view, we may put this group in Vinca A2/A3 — B. The paper presents a repertory, including all the archaeological sites where this group is present in Northwestern Romania.
