514 Nae Antonescu The History of the Press from Carei (Summary) This study is a preliminary step of a history concerning Romanian press from Carei (Satu Mare county), after Union from 1918. The town of Carei didn 't had, during this time, any daily, everythink that was published is connected by the idea of newspaper, weekly, but very quick is becoming an irregular editing, with a lot of pauses and returns. It deserves to be mentioned next periodicals: Gazeta de luni (Monday Newspaper), Neamul Nostru (Our Nation), Graiul neamului (Voice of the Nation), Sentinela de nord (Northern Sentinel) and Hotarul (The Boundary). All these periodicals from Carei were concerned of economic, political and cultural aspects from Carei and neighbouring areas. A support for press was obtained from teachers, who had a significant role in the developement of Romanian language and folklore collection .
