Europe it is known from Greece (DULL 1995) and Serbia (SABOVLJEVIC 2003). Scorpiurium deflexifolium (Solms) M. Fleisch, et Loeske is a Mediterranean element (DULL 1985). In SE Europe it is known from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia (DULL et al 1999), Greece (DULL 1995) and Albania (COLACINO and SABOVLJEVIC 2006). Syntrichia handelii (Schiffn.) S. Agnew et Vondr. is an East Mediterranean, continental element (DULL 1984). In SE Europe it is recorded only in Greece (DULL 1995). Weissia longifolia Mitt. var. angustifolia (Baumgartner) Crundw. et Nyholm is an Atlantic, sub-Mediterranean taxon (DULL 1984). In SE Europe it is reported only from Croatia (DULL et al 1999).
