RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Vegetation of the Öreg-hegy Grasslands On the plateau (250-235 m) and on the slopes facing south-southwest (250-200 m), where sandstone is not covered by sand deposits, closed steppe vegetation occurs that is threatened by intensive invasion of shrubs. Sandy grasslands and pastures occur at lower parts (up to 220-240 m), where a shallow or deeper sand mantle covers the sandstone. They are also threatened by the spread of shrubs. Table 1.
