Then the Petri plates are incubated at 25°C and 90% relative humidity. Mycelia - depending on the species - begin to grow after 1-14 days. Diameters of the cultures are measured daily until they reach ca. 70 mm. The freezing procedure is accepted, if the revived fungus has not been infected, more than 50% of the disks have begun to grow and their morphological properties were similar. Growth rate and yielding capacity of the revived cultures were studied by several authors (HWANG 1968, KNEEBOONE et al 1974), and no significant difference was found in any studied parameters compared with the control samples.
