4). Ophyocytium maius was found only in the samples taken from the subaquatic part of Typha latifolia. Seasonality Studying the seasonality of the algae (Table 1, Fig. 1) we can say that the greatest species richness was gathered (12 species/sample) in August 1988. This seemingly contradictory statement can be explained considering the unusually high number of Bacillariophyceae and Euglenophyta species, collected from the foot­trodden sampling point 6 (Fig. 2, Table 1). The average number of algae was also fairly high in July 1988 and October 1988 (11.25 species/sample and 11.16 species/sample, respectively). In July, Cyanophyta and Chlorophytae dominated the assemblage, while in October, an overwhelming dominance of Chlorophytae was observed.
