The coaaectioa between soluble trace element and organic material content The organic material content of the samples was calculated from the derivatograms . I calculated correlation between organic material and soluble element content for each element (Table 2.). In accordance with the data available the special literature the highest correlation with the organic material content was in case of Zn, which on one occasion reached even the maximum of 1. Cu generally showed good correlation while the connections between Mn and Pb were rather variable. In some cases the correlation is very close, in other cases it is so low that no connection can be assumed. (This will be explained in Chapter titled Conclusion.) 3.4. Connection between soluble trace element content and clay-mineral content The clay mineral content was determined also by means of derivatograms. The clay-mineral was mainly Illite and to lesser degree a mixed structure of Montmorillonite-IUite. Close negative correlation was found in the soluble Mn-content and clay-mineral content of only one section. In the majority of cases no correlation whatsoever could be found. With some elements in some samples low negative correlation was found. On the whole it can be concluded that no linear correlation exists between the clay-mineral quantity and the soluble concentration of Mn, Zn, Cu or Pb (Table 2.). 3.5. The connection between soluble trace-element content and carbonate content The carbonate content was determined by means of thermoanalysis, by derivatograph. In the connections calculated for carbonate content and soluble element content the highest value was obtained for Mn with relatively good negative r values for all the sections. Zn showed no connection at all, while copper and lead - with the exception of a few cases - showed fairly good negative correlation with the carbonate content (Table 2.). An explanation for the above is given in "Conclusion" .
