Szolláth, György: Data to the flora and vegetation of the Gerecse Mountains I.
are the subassociation distinguishing Teucrium chamaedrys (+ - and Cynanchum vincetoxium (+) as well as Lithospermum purpureo-coeruleum (+-1 - 1), Chrysanthemum corymbosum (+), Lathyrus nlger (+), Sedum maximum (+), etc. Species of the herb layer of low gradients next to the plateaus - Melica uniflora , Asperula odorata , Stellaria holostea , Mercurialis perennis - refer to the melicetosum uniflorae (Zólyomi 1958) subassociation, they are the distinguishing species of it. On the flat hilltop - once certainly covered with Turkey oak (Q.p.-c.pann. ) or Turkey oak-villose oak (Omo-Q.pann. ) forest - today cleared shrubbery, some rejected oak and grassland steppe are to be found , When leafing in spring, the isolation of the high matured Turkey oak (Q.p.-c.pann. ) stand from the Turkey oak-villose oak (Orno-Q.pann. ) forest can be seen from a long distance on the western side of Liget-hegy. In the tree stratum of the low, thinly planted wood the villose oak ( Qu. pubescens ) is dominant over the Turkey oak ( Qu. cerris ) and sessile oak ( Qu. petraea ). Sorbus torminalis - growing often to tree is frequents in its shrub stratum. Revealing species of its herb layer: Oryzopsis virescens (+ - 1), Teucrium chamaedrys (+ - 1), Muscari racemosum (+), Dictamnus albus (+), Chrysanthemum co rymbosum (+), Pulmonarla mollissima (+), Silene mutans (+), Peucedanum cervaria (+), Festuca heterophylla (+ -1), etc. Degraded forests of Kecske-hegy generally occupy intermediate positions between Turkey oakvillose oak (Omo-Q.pann.) and Turkey oak-oak (Q.p. -c.pann. ) forests. Characteristic species under the luxuriant shrub layer ( Acer campestre . Crataegus monogyna . Ligustrum vulgare ) are Primula yeris. Oryzopsis virescens . Galium glaucum . Lithospermum purpureo-coeruleum . etc. Ceraso (mahaleb) - Quercetum pubescentis (Soó 1964) (On the basis of 3 samples) Tree layer of the karst scrub-forest (Cer.-Q.) - with mosaiclike rock-vegetation - in the south-wett exposed, abrupt, rocky side of Nagy-Gete is represented by Q uercus pubescens (2 - 3), Fraxinus ornus (2 - 3)and Cerasus mahaleb ( + - 1). In its not much lower shrub layer Crataegus monogyna (+-1) and Pyrus achras (+) are the most frequent species besides Cornus mas (+-1) and Vi burnum lan tana (+-1). Typical species of its underwood: Cerasus fruticosa (+), Teucrium chamaedrys (+ - 1), Cynanchum vincetoxicum (+), Festuca sulcata (+ - 1), Inula ensifolia (+ - 1) and Iris variegata (+). On the southern and western slopes of the blocks of Magos-hegy there are stands similar - but more stunded - to Nagy-Gete as well; species-content of their herb layer are a little bit different (see below). These two latter plant communities are contiguous with one another in many places so their borderland often can be met. Since they cannot be made use of from the view point of forestry, they are qualified as protected forests (mainly the karst shrub forests - Cer.Q. - are undisturbed). Amygdaletum nanae (Soó 1964) (On the basis of 3 samples) We have found the characteristic species of this community on the open margin of the acidophilus oak forest on the southern side of the second block of Magos-hegy (Map. 2). Among the plants of the dwarf almond ( Amygdalus nana - + - +-1) plantation stretching up across the foot of the mountain - as it is described by Zólyomi (1958) - the groups of dry oak forests ( Quercion pubescenti-petraeae ) are composed of Teucrium chamaedrys (+ - l) ,Asparagu8 officinalis (+), Geranium sanguineum (+), Sedum maximum (+); representatives of dry herb layers ( Festucion rupicolae ) are Festuca sulcata (+ - l), Vinca herbacea (+), Stachys recta (+), Aster linosvris (+ - +-1), Adonis ver- nalis (+), Inula ensifolia (+), I. ochulus-christi (+), and Serra tula radiata (+). Seeing that at this altitude of the mountain rock-vegetation and slope steppes come into being on the fields uncovered with forests, their characteristic species - Andropogon ischaemum (+-1 - 3\ Carex humilis (+), Stipa capillata (+), Dorycnium germanicum (+), Thymus glabrescens (+), Iris pumila (+), etc. - also can be found here. Though they are present in other parts of Magos-hegy,
