s memory, the author was instigated to compose this paper also owing to the respective investigations useful him. There was the added realization that BORBAS'

s great sense of reality involved also the dialectics of conceptual cognition. This is well supported by the fact that BORBAS'

s theoretical contentions - even if never surpassing the contemporary level of science - have always opened the way, in view of their manifold analysis, to researches of new points of view and methods. Accordingly, BORBAS'

s floristical studies and ecological as well as biological, physiological observations - also springing from floristical bases - have still a vivid drive. The author analyses BORBAS's interpretors and points out also a new infrence concerning his disregard (0. B.
