Žarko Lazarević /Jože Prinčič: Slovene-Austrian Economic Relations, 1945-1991 (A View from Slovenia)
Slovene-Austrian Economic Relations, 1945-1991 Although Austria did not break off economic relations, it became very careful and reserved in receiving Slovene applications and incentives. In the second half of 1991, Austria was prepared to help Slovenia with advice, training of professionals, transfer of knowledge (know-how) and to open its economic representation in Ljubljana. The latter was supposed to assist Slovene companies to import raw and production materials. The Slovene government received such activities with great sympathy. It believed that the confidence of the Western world would be regained after the country sorted out its domestic ownership, monetary and other conditions. 243
