Closing Session / Séance de Clôture - Conclusions and Recommandations / Conclusions et recommandations
Closing Session - Séance de Clôture I am, I think, the only remaining member of the executive committee of ICA. It is my pleasant duty to, on behalf of the president of ICA and the executive committee, to congratulate our colleagues on a very, very successful conference during this week. We have enlightening and sometimes provocative papers, and so first of all I must thank the speakers. We have had some able chairmen, I think many people think that sitting in the chair is a very easy thing to do, but indeed, it is one of the most difficult things to do. We have had very productive discussions thanks to all of your efforts, and again thanks for your interventions. Above all, we have had friendship, very warm hospitality, and I certainly would like to thank the organizers for the kindness that they have shown to us. I need to mention some people in particular. First of all, for organizing this conference, Mr. Peball. I also have to say a special Thank you on behalf of us all to Leopold Auer, who we are glad to see, is almost restored to health. He is an endlessly patient man, very understanding, but above all, extremely efficient. And again we thank him, for all that he has done to make the conference a success. Next I’d like to thank Lorenz Mikoletzky. Endlessly cheerful, endlessly efficient, but I think you ought to understand how much of a strain this conference has been for him. You remember, at the „Heuriger“, we celebrated his birthday. What you did not know, was that he had his other birthday two months before. This conference has aged him a year in just two months. Of course we must also thank the staff of the Staatsarchiv who have taken care of us, the domestic arrangements, the tour yesterday of this wonderful building, and we also thank the colleagues from Bratislava, Sopron and Eisenstadt for their hospitality and their contribution and of course, we thank the Chancellery and those of the Rathaus for their hospitality and finally, the people who should never be forgotten, who make our conference possible. Despite the fact that many of us are not talking in our mother tongue but they still manage to take us through in another language, we thank very sincerely the interpreters for all their hard work. 455
