The author introduces tables, where the gradual decrease of the number of Hungarian kindergartens, elementary and high schools and the number of their students can be seen, emphasising the fact that the number of Hungarian nationality children in Slovak language kindergartens, and/or in Slovak language elementary and high schools is gradually increasing. The author deals with the 1968 events and points to that apparent paradox that dur­ing the reform process, called the Prague spring, nationalism and the anti-Hungarian atmosphere revived. In the last chapter the author writes about the various activities of the Csemadok (Cultural Association of Hungarian Workers in Czechoslovakia) that was created in 1949 and within the framework of which the Hungarian community in Slovakia had the oppor­tunity to foster its minority culture. 197
