Abstract Faith, Confession and other Taboo Themes The study introduces faith and confession of faith as theological aesthetic themes. Confession is a human echo and reflecdon to the word and act of God which primarily address and carry certain aesthetic elements. The aesthetic motives do not appear only in the form and style of confession but they are present in the content, the very heart of confession of faith, in the relationship of God and humans. The subjectivity of the religious experience in the personal relationship with God is determining. The senses are pleased in this experience and the intellect is illuminated by the Logos. Confession is invention. The concomitant doxological character of confession strengthens the aesthetic elements. The realization of invention necessarily leads to the intention to confess. The often taboo themes of beauty, subject and person(ality) in theological exploration need to be reconsidered in a time of alienation. Hit, hitvallás és egyéb tabutémák 2011/1 Sárospataki füzetek 93
