Hiábavalóság^ Abstract Vanity? - Ecclesiastes 3:11 Two opposite opinions can be compared about the Book of Ecclesiastes. One is traditionally attributed to Heinrich Heine, who described the book as “Das Hohelied der Skepsis”. Although Friedrich Ellermeier later found out that Heine had made this statement not about the Book of Ecclesiastes but that of Job, it still formulates a position that is shared by many, though expressed in different words. The opposite opinion is from the renowned Old Testament scholar, Franz Delitzsch, who uses the phrase “Das Hohelied der Gottesfurcht” for the Book of Ecclesiastes. Which opinion should be accepted? Maybe both? In what direction could Ecclesiastes 3:11 point in this question? 2011/1 Sárospataki Füzetek 25
