A magyar társadalom vallásszociológiai arculata a 21. század kezdetén inkkal, tettekben megmutatkozó, hitből fakadó szeretetünkkel bizonyságot tennünk. Summary Sociological aspects of religiosity in Hungary at the beginning of the 21st century - a survey The survey covers the most recently published analyses of research done before 2000, and the results and findings of research carried out since the turn of the millennium. The relevant literature surveyed is organised around the following themes. The most significant Hungarian and international re­searches on religiosity are introduced. Different types of religiosity are pre­sented followed by the relevant data. The concept of ‘secularisation’ is dealt with in order to explain some of the data. A more refined picture is given by looking at some ‘background variables’, such as age, marital status, gender, education, settlement type, financial situation. Special attention is paid to the changing religiosity of the youth. The rates of various denominations are pre­sented along with some ‘Hungarian reformed’ characteristics. Some data on how society views religion and church institutions are also examined. As a conclusion the study highlights some alarming tendencies and tries to raise some questions from a theological viewpoint
