The child protection activities of the St. Francis Foundation led by the Franciscan monk. Fr. Csaba Böjté in the Carpathian basin elicited a huge response from the Hungarian-American community in southwest Florida. The goal of $20,000.00 in donations was reached late on the third day of his visit in Sarasota and Venice. We thank everyone connected with the organization of his visit. Torn from the Flag. The press screening of the feature-length documentary film about the historical significance of the 1956 Hungarian revolution took place in Los Angeles. Producer Klaudia Kovács worked with Oscar-winning cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond and the late László Kovács to achieve high technical quality and, according to early reviewers, make one of the best films ever on the subject. As “co-producer” of the film the Kossuth Club and several members made contributions to the production cost. We hope to see the film in 2008 during the Sarasota Film festival. UPCOMING PROGRAMS 1.
