Banquet speaker: Dr. Alexander Csizinszky. The cost of $25 per person includes a full course meal (Tossed Spinach Salad, Dried Cranberries, Pancetta, Mushrooms, Feta Cheese with Balsamic Vinaigrette, Roasted Sliced Pork Loin with Fresh Fruit Chutney, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potato, Haricot Verts and Roast Red Pepper, Specialty Bread Basket, Chocolate Strawberry Truffle Cake, Coffee, Tea). Wednesday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Waterside Room at the Sarasota Quay: “ELETFA ENSEMBLE.” An evening of Hungarian folk, gypsy, popular and dance music. The group is the premier Hungarian folk band in the United States. Formed 15 years ago in the New York-New Jersey area, they treat audiences to a high-energy, entertaining tour of Hungarian culture through song and dance. Three members of the group will perform in Sarasota; all three were bom and raised in New Jersey where American-Hungarian communities remain strong. The Auxiliary of the Hungarian Medical Association of America (HMAA) sponsors this program. On-site tickets are 20 dollars for adults, 5 dollars for students. Thursday, October 31 at 4:00 p.m. in the Selby Public Library (1331 First Street, Sarasota) Jack J. Geldbart Auditorium. Hungarian Poetry recital by ÉVA MÉCS. Ms. Mécs is a graduate of the Budapest Academy of Theater and Film. She performed a variety of leading roles in theaters in Győr, Pécs and Budapest before coming to the United States in 1985. She lives in Pittsburgh with her family and is coming to Sarasota as a member of the HMAA Auxiliary. This is a benefit performance for the Kossuth Club scholarship fund. The internationally known concert pianist BÁLINT VÁZSONYI will give a benefit recital for the Kossuth Club at the Mildred Sainer Music and Arts Pavilion on the New College campus Sunday, December 1.
