Later he became a member of the staff of civil servants; he worked as a town-clerk, a chief constable, then as a sub-prefect of Fejér county. Before he was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Fejér county he had been vice-prefect between 1869 and 1870. On 25 February I 875 he was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Komárom town and county. Other members of his family could be found in the staff of civil servants of Fejér county as early as the 18th century. 68 TASz Report of the General Assembly 1872. No. 9. János Niczky ap­plied for the administrative councillor position, but he was outvoted. He was elected II. administrative councillor on 9 May 1867.
