The index of the Library stock reference number helps the user find the exact location of a particular item within the Library. 2. The titles' index records all texts on the cover of an item including the actual title, texts on the spine or any texts on the cover or inside the item that qualify as titles in addition to the main title. We stick to the original spellings as a rule, so no titles or texts have been updated or rephrased whatsoever. 3. The index of printing houses and printers gives information which printer worked in which town or village and when the item catalogued was published. 4. The index of printers is the register of all the printers and publishers together with the dates of publication. 5. The chronological index gives the year of publication and the location of the printing house. 6. The alphabetical index lists all the persons mentioned within any text regarded as title texts, who, however are not the authors. We give the names of those contributing to the volume in any way, who, however. Are not printers or publishers. Any name occurring in the markings or notes is also listed unless it’s the possessor’s name. 7. The index of illustrations gives an overview of the ornaments of the Library items from 16 aspects. 8. The index of markings or notes lists the possessors grouped into private persons and bodies in an alphabetical order following the spelling used in the item. The list of the owners was supplemented with the probable users of the item. Markings and notes are listed also according to the language they are written in. The index is completed with the list of other miscellaneous marks, figures, underlined parts and drawings. 9. Among other indices used, finally, the user can find data on the local Zsoldos-bindings and a comparison of the catalogue item numbers with OSZK and CIH catalogue numbers. 27
