EGYKORI VEZÉRIGAZGATÓHELYETTESÉVEL ÉS IGAZGATÓSÁGI TAGJÁVAL 1977-1979 között végeztem a gazdasági mérnöki tanfolyamot a Budapesti Műszaki Egyetemen. Többek között Hosszú István, Marray János, Вezeczky Gyula, Bognár Gyula, ő akkor még a Borsodi Vegyikombinát színeiben dolgozott, voltunk egy évfolyamon. Én akkor, 1977-1980 között laborvezető voltam, akkor Hosszú István igazgató akart elcsábítani Bőcsre. De mondtam, hogy ez kizárt dolog. Bognár Gyula viszont hamarosan a Borsodi Sörgyárhoz került kereskedelmi vezetőnek, utána dr. Hosszú István, aki sajnos korán meghalt, emlékére a sörgyárak munkatársai és hozzátartozói Németh Árpád Árpád Németh INTERVIEW WITH ÁRPÁD NÉMETH, THE FORMER DIRECTOR OF THE SOPRON BREWERY AND FORMER VICE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND BOARD MEMBER OF THE BRAU UNION HUNGÁRIA STOCK CORPORATION 1 completed a course in engineering economics at the Budapest University of Technology between 1977-1979. Among others, our class included István Hosszú, János Morvy, Gyula Bezeczky and Gyula Bognár, who worked at the Borsod Chemical Combine at the time. Back then, between 1977-1980,1 was the lab manager, and it was during that time that István Hosszú, the director, tried to convince me to come to Bocs. But I said that that’s out of the question. Shortly thereafter, Gyula Bognár became the head of the commerce division at the Borsod Brewery, he was succeeded by Dr tstván Hoszszú. Unfortunately, he died early and the brewery employees and his family created the Dr tstván Hosszú Foundation in his memory. After tstván Hosszú, Gyula Bognár became the executive director of the Borsod Brewery. The technical crew remained unchanged. Gyula В ezeczky fell ill, and ultimately Róbert Sápi took over things from him. Gyula Bezeczky was a very talented chemical engineer. They cooperated in the construction of the brewery. Ii was at this time, still under aegis of the National Beer Industry Trust, that they appointed István Hosszú, who worked in Kőbánya. Almost everyone's career was launched at that point. When we were competitors, up until the privatisation in 1990, we were regularly in touch to discuss technical issues, since the problems were mostly the same everywhere. The most fundamental problem was that we were always trying to catch up with demand. We couldn't keep up, especially in the summer. That is why in the second half of the 1980s a fund was set up to increase beer production capacities, and every brewery - ours included - had the possibility to apply to expand its capacities [we expanded by 170,000 hectolitres). Privatisation resulted in a rupture with the previous cooperative practice, however, since from then on it seemed that the foreign corporate owners looked askance at such type of inter-corporate communication. Since everyone feared for their jobs, this had the result we all became a little uncertain. One particular 138
