II. A magyarországi sörfőzés története
sörmérnök, aki meghalt. Paprika Antal Lajosnak (1915-1957) hívták ezt az illetőt. Munkásigazgató volt, de született intelligens ember, hiába nem voltak magas iskolái. Sörmesterként nem is érettségizett, viszont volt neki ilyen két éves vörös akadémiája, amikor két év alatt belenyomtak a káderekbe, ami lehetett tudást. Ő ezt megtanulta. ló érzékkel vezetett, úgyhogy én nagyon szerettem vele dolgozni, és kölcsönös volt a szimpátia. Horváth kolléga, a fiatal főmérnök, nem vagyunk egyformák, gyötrődött. N agyon nagy tudású volt, de nem volt gyakorlati szakember. Nem volt emberismerete, tapasztalata. Pechje volt, mert ő az egyetemről azonnal ebbe az állásba került. Én meg odakerültem, és nekem, mint kezdő vegyészmérnöknek, aki ugyan megtanulta a sörfőzés elméleti dolgait, de nekem a gyakorlatban is meg kellett tanulnom a szakmát. The factory director was a master brewer who had grown up in Kőbánya, but he did not have any higher education, either, he had been trained on the job. Ferenc Szilágyi (1921-1983) was my first master and teacher, and to this day his name is inscribed in my personal history with capital letters.
