II. A magyarországi sörfőzés története
Rendszeressé váltak a legfelsőbb vezetés látogatásai is. Kádár János pártfőtitkár elvtárs (1912-1989) is volt 2-3 alkalommal Kőbányán, az államelnök Losonczi Pál (1919-2005) is. Szívesen jöttek, ezzel pedig jól járt a gyár. Ezek a kapcsolatok jók voltak arra, hogy az ember, amit mondott azt elhitték és komolyan vették. A Kőbányai Sörgyár nagyon szerényen fejlődött a megelőző évtizedekben, mert mind a MOSV, mind a Tröszt idejében iparági szinten kaptuk a pénzt. Nem voltak önállóak a vállalatok, és az iparági vezetés döntött a megkapott pénz felhasználásáról. A kevés pénzből, ha Kőbányára tettük volna, egy kis részt meg tudtunk volna csinálni, de maradt volna minden más elavult. A vidéki gyáraknál meg ez a pénz nagyon sokat jelentett. Egymás után hoztuk rendbe a vidéki gyárakat, de Kőbánya elmaradt. Viszont ez tarthatatlan volt, valamit kellett tenni. 1980 végén elkezdtem ütni a vasat, hogy Kőbánya rekonstrukciója nagyon fontos. A Tervhivatal felső vezetését sikerült megnyerni, hogy jöjjenek ki, nézzék meg a helyszínt, hogy mi van. And this meant that they helped with the issues facing the Kőbánya Brewery. So when this aspirant came along saying that he wants to be the executive director, the district party leadership sought to make sure that he would not get the position.
