The grinding mechanism of the coffee-mill consists of a pair of disks with grooved surfaces. The distance between the disks determines the fineness of the milling product. Due to its oil content ground coffee gets quickly rancid, therefore the beans should be, if possible, ground on the spot, immediately before preparing the drink.
