Nem illik a másét elvenni... To take what is not yours does not fit elburjánzó visszaéléseket, 1893 őszén összegyűltek, és létrehozták a „budapesti és bp. környéki" szikvízgyárosok szövetkezetét. The demand for soda water was justified by the fact that artesian water was used to fill the bottles, which in itself guaranteed good quality, even if other water cleaning processes that are widely applied today were not known. To meet the demands the upswing of enterprises generated more manufacturers, businessmen, suppliers and, of course, consumers. The real boom took place in the decades following the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867, and by the end of the century seltzer manufacturers had concentrated in labour organisations. In their efforts to prevent the ever increasing counterfeiting, in the autumn of 1893 they had a meeting and founded the cooperation of soda water manufacturers „in Budapest and the district thereof". Thereupon they urged the need for a national organisation, about which we can read as early as in 1895 in the Newsletter of the Hungarian Che­mists and Merchantmen, published as the supplement of their official newsletter. Here can we read a statement about the need for the disclosure of the cunning rivals using „unknown labels on the bottles", which was one of, if not the most important, problems. Then, on 1st August, 1901 the first issue with the headline „New Start,, they published the „Newsletter of Soda Ma­nufacturers" at last, which was the organ of a national cooperation. They set their tasks in a peaceful and wise voice as follows: „Our Newsletter is set to be an advocate of the interests of soda water manufacturers but, on the other hand, is going to protect the rights of the workers trying to keep a good and friendly relationship between the employers and the employees.
