Simon Géza Gábor: „Csillogó fekete lemezeken…” 100 éves a magyar hanglemezgyártás és -forgalmazás (Budapest, 2008)

Hungarian jazz history A few years before the change in political system in 1989/90 the publication of the first Hungarian jazz history record was refused and thus the first LPs were released by West German and British publishers. Austrian and French labels also continually published Hungarian jazz recordings. Pannonion, founded at the time of the political changes, and later Pannon Jazz, attempted to make up for the delay of several decades with their releases. Hungaroton started a CD series of their own recordings within the Hungarian Jazz History set. Blues and jazz on new labels A number of small publishers who stepped onto the new market saw great possibilities in releases of blues and/or jazz recordings.
