The Fedák The real star of the musical theatres in Hungarywas Sári Fedák. She led theatrical productions with new styles of music and she was the first to dance the cakewalk in a Hungarian theatre scandalising the audience. Her breeches roles achieved particular success; Fedák received the leading role in Pongrác Kacsóh's János vitéz (Sir John) with Vilma Medgyaszay playing Iluska alongside her. She made a huge number of recordings with various record companies. This contribution and its value have been almost totally ignored by research.
