A régi kávéházak, de a régi presszók sem akartak mások lenni, mint amik voltak. A tapasztalat azt mutatja, hogy a műfajok keveredéséből ritkán sül ki jó. Olykor azonban mégis sikerül fenntartani valami kényes egyensúlyt a kávék, sütik és szendvicsek meg a „valami más" kőzött. A lepusztult, régi mozi-büfék helyén az art-mozik takaros kávézói, az Uránia vagy a Merlin gyönyörű és népszerű kávéházi terei példaadó kivételek. A könyv nehezebb ügy, a Nyitott Műhely kivételével ma már szinte mindenütt csak dekorációként vagy alkalmi unaloműzőként szolgál. És itt vannak az internet-cafék, amelyek legtöbbje csupán a társas magány kopár színhelye, ám néhány helyen nem a monitorok állnak a középpontban, és a vendégek a virtuális csevegés helyett szívesebben választják kávéjuk mellé az emberi szót. The old cafés and the old espresso bars did not want to be anything other than what they were. Experience shows that it is rare for something good to come of a hybrid. However, sometimes it is possible to maintain a delicate balance between the coffee, the pastries, the sandwiches and the something else 1 . Instead of the dilapidated, old cinema snack bars, smart coffee bars m art cinemas, such as the elegant and popular café spaces at the Uránia or the Merlin, are exceptions that provide an excellent example. Books are a more difficult subject. Apart from the Nyitott Műhely [Open Workshop], they are now almost always used only as decoration or to kill time. And the internet cafés are here, the majority merely the bleak scenes of collective loneliness. But in a few places it is not the monitors that take centre stage and the customers prefer human company with their coffee to virtual 'chatting 1 .
