S. Nagy Anikó, Rédey Judit: Az utca képeskönyve. Kereskedelmi plakátok és korabeli kritikájuk (1885–1945) (Bpudapest, 2006)
Imre Földes is a specialist of movie theatres. His posters are works of art that command respect. His strength is the creation of special and yet legible fonts and this happens to be typical of nearly all Hungarian artists. The list would be far too long of the names of all the artists whose pictures stare back at us from the advertising pillars of the streets of Budapest. There is no stopping it, the bomb has exploded and the process has begun. Hungarian artists will become more and more independent by the day with their works less and less influenced by foreign examples. Previously unknown talents are being discovered by the day and this is the main guarantee for the development of what is uniquely Hungarian poster art. (Das Plakat, 2/1915) ]ascfiik, Álmos. Artistic Posters It would be good to see one or two posters for spas. Budapest is, even if few believe it, a predestined spa town that proudly shows such institutions to strangers at all the foreign, cultural exhibitions. So the time has also come for the Budapest public and visitors to Budapest to get to know about this. It really is not European for a person to acquire knowledge of their own town in terms of spas from hard-to-acquire brochures. (Szabad Művészet, 1912) Ernő, Gronwald. Posters An original poster is just like a faithful wife while a mass poster, that is designed for a wider audience and everyone has their own company's advertisement printed on it, is just like a strumpet. (Az Üzlet, 9/1908) Practically speaking, nowadays, all of our poster artists are doing ground-breaking work and so every result that they achieve in this field can be seen as a cultural achievement.
