The workshops of the confectioners were situated mainly in the Inner city which was surrounded by walls (Belváros), in its northern section (The historical kernel of contemporary Budapest on the left-hand­sike of the Danube). We know of one confectioner who built his workshop at the end of the century in a northern suburb, just under construction, converging with the Inner City (in the immediate vicinity of the wall which was later demolished) and near the Danube boat-bridge. 141
