is, amelyek nem csak a kiállítás, de a történeti munkák összeállítása szempontjából is fontos. A tárgyi anyag gyűjtése, annak ellenére, hogy a múzeum tárgyraktára már régen megtelt, folyamatosnak mondható. Az anyag gyűjtése során egy állandó szelekció érvényesül, melynek eredményeként a jobb állagú, technikatörténeti szempontból jelentősebb értékű tárgyak helye a gyűjteményben mindig biztosított. Múzeumunk működése nem csak a kiállításokban nyilvánul meg. A múzeumot támogató vállalatok részére kiállítások, rendezvények, bemutatók céljára rendelkezésre bocsátjuk az épület egyes helyiségeit (kiállítási tér, előadóterem 170 személy részére, reprezentatív fogadótér, könyvtárhasználat, stb.) Az INNOVATEXT Textilipari Kutató és Fejlesztő Vállalat hathatós szakmai és erkölcsi segítségével létrehoztuk a múzeum szakmai tevékenységét támogató Múzeumi Tanácsot, az iparág kiemelkedő személyiségeinek részvételével. Terveink között szerepel egy „nyugdíjas klub" létrehozatala, egy technikai park létesítése a múzeum kertjében, ahova olyan gépek kerülnének felállításra, amelyek súlyuk vagy méretük folytán az állandó kiállítás területén nem férnének el. Minthogy a múzeumban már most is van látnivaló - melyről több ezer látogató győződhetett meg az utóbbi fél évben - kiállításunk megismertetése, az arról alkotott vélemények, ötletek, javaslatok összegyűjtése jövőbeli munkánk szempontjából lényeges. Éppen ezért köszönettel veszünk minden építő ötletet, s minden újabb látogatót. GÁBOR OSZETZKY: The Museum for the Textile and Clothing Industry has opened its gates. The opening of the Museums for the Textile and Clothing Industry can look back at a preparatory work lasting for about 20 years. Since in Hungary the permanent exhibitions of a central technical museum could not get a final place up to now, the different crafts and industrial sectors started, one after the other in the 60-es, to develop their own collections, they established their own museums. The paper reveals the conditions under which the Museum for the Textile and Clothing Industry came into being, beginning with the development of the collections, till the foundation of the museum. The museum itself came into existence with the support of the industrial sector and it is a significant and somewhat unique fact in Hungary that the maintenance of the building-which is about 35 00 m 2 large-the costs of its professional development, is not covered from central resources, but the companies, the textile mills contribute regularly to the costs of the upkeep. All this pecuniary assistance come to the account of the museum within the frame of a cooperation-agreement and this quasi ensures that the influence of the supporting companies their professional assistance becomes part of the everyday work of the museum. Looking at it from the nature of the building, the museum may become the cultural centre of the supporting companies, it may become the site of programmes, exhibitions, conferences which is a guarantee of the mutual dependence, of the better cooperation.
