Dr. Győriványi, S.: Cooperation of the roper artisans and the Hungarian roper Manufactures Summary The carters of incorporation of the roper guilds ordered - already in the XV. century - forms of cooperation for their members for the possibility of producing great ropes /for mines, ferries and other towing purposes/ with combined effort. Larger military orders too were processed by more ropers at the same time. The master craftsmen doing marketing and defending themselves against merchants and peddlers by means of guild-rules began to form a stray connection with merchants in the second half of the XVIII. century buying up large quantities of agricultural rope for the estates. Raw material, producing means belonged to the guilded master craftsmen and the activity of the merchand was some kind of a stockist's. The Hungarian sea-shore roping manufacture becomes stronger too in the second half of the XVIII. century in Fiume and displays a continuous blooming. The rope needs of the steamboating on the Danube is met by the indoor roper work of the shipyard in Öbuda from 185o till 1895. Among the numerous manufactures having been established since 185o the one of Nándor Bakay in Szeged was transformed into a factory around 187o. The roping on manufacturai level functioning near the consumer's market more or less efficiently according to the current conjuncture has been liquidate in Hungary around 194o. Bp.
