that the research on the history of theatre cannot restrict its activity to works produced on the stage. It was mentioned, that East-European research has to be extended to the Par East; that the notion of Eastern Europe has changed many times in the course of history; that the idea of German national theatre has common roots with those of Eastern Europe; that the theatre of the aristocracy /baronial theatre/ is a generel phe­nomenon of the declining feudalism and that it played an important part before the beginning of the professional theatre in the vernecular etc. Dr. Ferenc Hont in his concluding words stated that the lectures and remarks had proved that an active research ofi the East-European theatre is going on in Hungary. The most important task of the future will be to make this research more in­tense and versatile and to turn from the history of theatre to present problems. The Appendix contains an index of the East European dramas produced and published in Hungary and a list of the concerning articles.
