in alphabetical order. Each production is assigned an entry number. We publish the title of the production, the original title of the piece, its genre, the producers’ names, and the cast list, followed by the premiere date, and the production site. Last season’s premieres are divided into subcategories in an attempt to represent all genres: open-air performances, children 's theatre, dance premieres, productions by Hungarian theatres outside the Hungarian border. The third part of the Yearbook covers last season’s news: guest performances, theatrical awards, festivals, etc. Lastly, there is a bibliography. The latest edition does not follow the time period of a theatrical season, but the calendar year, in our case, 2004. Indexes can found to help the reader. Within the index of names next to the name of the artist there is an entry number that corresponds to the production number listed in the production index. Italicized numerals are page numbers, where the name of the artist is also mentioned. Readers who are interested in a specific play may find additional information in the index of Hungarian and original titles. The data published in this book has all been checked and verified with the companies themselves. Nevertheless, should any mistakes or inaccuracies occur, we apologize to our readers in advance. We encourage any remarks or additions that may make our Yearbook more precise. We also hope that in a few years our databank will be easily accessible and available for further study. The Editors 10
